TrustBuddy is a platform designed to solve a genuine everyday problem: finding trusted, verified people to look after your pet, giving peace of mind to both owners and sitters.
What it does
A mobile-first marketplace connecting pet owners with vetted sitters: identity verification, calendar and availability management, escrow payment workflows (funds are held safely until the service is completed), and photo/status updates during each stay.
Architecture
Organised as a Turborepo monorepo powered by pnpm:
- Frontend: Mobile-first Next.js 14 web app paired with an independent administration console.
- Backend: Modular NestJS REST API with TypeORM and Passport JWT authentication.
- Database: PostgreSQL with schema migrations versioned via Flyway.
- Infrastructure: Fully automated AWS CDK deployment (ECS for containerised services, RDS PostgreSQL, and S3 for media assets).
Status
Actively being built and tested for early pilot onboarding, with a primary focus on payment correctness, user safety, and operational reliability.
